Topics

The autumn meeting is a regular work meeting of the SIG "Philosophy and Informatics". We are looking for contributions addressing the following aspects under the main heading "Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence":

  • Foundations of AI
  • Epistemology and AI
  • Creating domains: Problems of definition, isolation (frame problem), transfer problem ("Eigengesetzlichkeit" of domains), problems of adaptation of logic (modal logic)
  • Thinking ("Denken") vs. knowledge ("Wissen"), process vs. result: associative vs. structural thinking; phenomenology, tacit or implicit knowledge
  • Philosophical contributions to knowledge representation
  • Semantics and knowledge representation
  • Evaluation of knowledge: qualitative and quantitative aspects
  • Hierarchies of knowledge
  • Philosophical aspects of knowledge management
 

Submissions

Submission languages are English and German. The meeting will be held in English

The meeting solicits statements of interest (SOI) of about one or two pages in length. There will be no review process. It is intended to make the SOIs available at the SIG's website prior to the meeting.

SOI authors are strongly encouraged to use LaTeX and the Springer llncs class files available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. There is also a Word template available at the Springer website.
